Never what you think...
Hanging out in the corner Long legs and short hair You don’t say much But I see you there You’re impossible to miss Inconspicuous as you can be Yet as I float into the room I feel your gaze attached to me You sense the air moving As I sweep and trace the space I sense the grievous danger But I can’t ignore your face So many others like me Have danced their last dance with you Finding out firsthand what it’s like To be too good to be true You caught them with your meat hooks Drained their souls for a midnight snack Their lives slowly slipping and fading Now it’s my turn to come under attack Sometimes I wonder why How I was so foolish to walk right in I didn’t even see the trap you laid Blinded by my own desires within It was too late for me in that minute When fate made our paths intersect I am done for and don’t even know it The death for myself I didn’t elect Will I stand out to you on your list Of the hundreds you or more you’ve had Freezing lips give out paralytic poison As I float into a dream warm and sad The husk of my corpse remains rigid As you hang my body to dry Then you’ll get bored and cut it loose And go entangle another one nigh
